Basic Food Safety 3.5 is non-management general food safety education. The course is composed of over 90 pages of comprehensive food
safety information (in English & Spanish) with an approximate run-time of 1 hour
(four 15-minute lessons).
The lessons cover the following topics: Foodborne Illness, Personal Hygiene & Handwashing, Time & Temperature and the Food Flow Process, and Contamination & Sanitation. The program is designed to educate a rotating,
multi-level staff with varying degrees of background knowledge and has
been written on an 8th grade reading level for ease of use with all
employees.
There is an interactive glossary of food safety-related terms for
reinforcement of key concepts as well as overviews of case studies
& recent critical incidents. Constructed for the individual
learner, the program’s pace and remediation are based on the trainee’s
needs. The program concludes with a 20-question randomized, graded assessment and
personalized, printable certificate of achievement.
Basic Food Safety 3.5 was designed in conjunction with the 2005 FDA
Food Code for safe food handling and preparation and is aligned with
all state programs for managerial certification.
An Introduction to Wine
The Vino 101: An Introduction to Wine training course teaches new foodservice
professionals the basics about wine and aids in recommending, selling
and serving wine. It also can be used as a refresher course for
seasoned professionals.
The lessons cover the following topics: What is Wine?, Grape Varieties, Wine-Producing Regions and Serving Wine. Vino 101 is approximately 120 minutes in
length. A printable glossary of all wine-related terms is available. The program is ideally used as part of a blended learning strategy for
wine training that pairs learning with hands-on tasting. Supplemental
resources are also included to support the newly acquired knowledge
gained from the program. Beer & SpiritsBeer & Spirits is an interactive, student-centered training tutorial that explores
beer, distilled spirits, mixed drinks, and other alcoholic beverages. A
great resource for employees who are new to the restaurant/foodservice
industry, Beer & Spirits is also useful as refresher course for
seasoned restaurant professionals. The lessons cover the following topics: Beer, Distilled Spirits, Mixers, Garnishes & Glassware and Making Drinks.
